Memorial Tree Scholarship Fund

The Memorial Tree Scholarship Fund was started on Easter Sunday April 5, 2015 in loving memory of our departed family members. The idea was to create a sacred space where we can have a memorial tree, in whose leaves; are the names of our dear departed.

For every name in the memorial tree, the family members gives a donation  - as they wish. With the donations given in the first year, we were able to give a scholarship to our first student; towards his high school education.

There is a vetting process as well as guidelines put in place by the Vestry on how to apply for the scholarship, and a committee which oversees the vetting process. The committee eventually shares with the Vestry outcome of their work, before the announcement of those awarded the scholarships is made public.

The scholarship fund has been so successful that we have been able to pay school fees, for four students that have completed high school. Three out of the four have advanced to various universities in Kenya. The Memorial Tree Fund supported for their first semester of university before transitioning to student loans. Currently we have three high school students.

You can support this scholarship fund by having the name of a departed member of your family in the memorial tree, or by giving yearly donations during their anniversaries. You can also support this fund -  as God enables you, so that we can award more scholarships in future; as the need is there.
