Memorial Tree Scholarship Fund

The Memorial tree Scholarship fund was started on Easter Sunday April 5, 2015 in loving memory of our departed family members. The idea was to create a sacred space where we can have a memorial tree, in whose leaves; are the names of our dear departed.

For every name in the memorial tree, the family members gives a donation  - as they wish. With the donations given in the first year, we were able to give a scholarship to our first student; towards his high school education.

There is a vetting process as well as guidelines put in place by the Vestry on how to apply for the scholarship, and a committee which oversees the vetting process. The committee eventually shares with the Vestry outcome of their work, before the announcement of those awarded the scholarships is made public.

The fund’s drive has been so successful that in 2017, we were able to award five more scholarships to needy high school students; in different parts of Kenya. Currently we are supporting six needy high school students. Through the same scholarship fund, we were able to award grants of $250 each; to two church young adults who are attending college in 2017.

You can support this scholarship fund by having the name of a departed member of your family in the memorial tree, or by giving yearly donations during their anniversaries. You can also support this fund -  as God enables you, so that we can award more scholarships in future; as the need is there.
